A new Presidential Interdisciplinary Seed Grant will support One-Two Punch Therapy, a collaborative project focused on refractory cancer in human and canine patients. The project brings together investigators from the College of Pharmacy, School of Computing, and College of Veterinary Medicine to develop new therapeutic strategies for cancers that are difficult to treat with standard approaches.
The award aligns closely with the Drug Discovery and AI Working Group within the Systems Modeling and Data Analytics Core. By combining cross-species oncology, computational modeling, artificial intelligence, and therapeutic testing, the project supports the broader Precision One Health goal of using discoveries in naturally occurring canine cancer to inform more effective treatment strategies for both animals and people.
