UGA’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence has adopted a new two-tier faculty membership structure as part of its updated bylaws. The new membership guidelines define Affiliate and Fellow roles for faculty who contribute to AI-related research, teaching, mentorship, service, and outreach across campus.
The update reflects IAI’s continued growth as a university-wide hub for artificial intelligence, with more than 100 faculty members transitioning into the new structure and additional hires joining as core faculty. For Precision One Health and the Systems Modeling and Data Analytics Core, this stronger AI faculty network creates new opportunities to connect biomedical research, computational methods, and cross-campus collaboration in support of data-driven discovery.
